Found Living

Welcome to Found Living the blog to go along with my (hopeful) new business renovating old furniture. Not sure if I'm completely mad, or mad scientist brilliant to be starting a new business in a recession but to paraphrase Frank Sinatra  if I can make it now I can make it anytime. At worst I'll end up with a beautiful, if rather cluttered, home.

The ethos of the business is to create custom pieces of furniture by reusing old pieces of furniture and bringing them up to date for contemporary living. As well as being unique the furniture will be affordable as the raw materials and labour for producing the piece have been provided 40, 50 even 100 years ago! By saving the “raw material” of the business from landfill I'm hoping to grow a company with a low carbon footprint from the outset.

Below is the before picture of the beautiful Victorian console table above. It was very sad and tired when cleared out of an equally sad and tired Georgian house in Limerick. It is the first piece of furniture I finished that is officially for sale and can be found on DoneDeal if anyone is interested!
